The HCIF & PASHRM 2019 Spring Conference was held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 with over 100 healthcare leaders and partners from 44 different organizations in attendance. Keynote speaker, Michael Leonard, MD, Founder of Safe & Reliable Healthcare reiterated the importance of leadership in contributing to an organization’s safety culture and reviewed how safety culture measurements can be implemented to drive improvement and collaboration among caregivers. Additionally, the conference included presentations from the top three winners— Thomas P. Cleary, BSN, RN and Scott D. Alcott, MSN, RN of Einstein Medical Center Montgomery; Juliane Jablonski, DNP, RN, CCRN, CCNS of Penn Medicine; and Karen M. Perez, RN-BC, BSN and Megan Reinhart, RN-BC, BSN of Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health—of the 2018 Delaware Valley Patient Safety & Quality Award program. Other event highlights included a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Leonard with regional experts—Maureen Frye, MSN, ANP-BC, CRNP, CPPS, CPHQ of Safe & Reliable Healthcare; Henry A. Pitt, MD of Temple University Health System; and Jennifer Sablich, RN, BSN, CPHRM of Einstein Healthcare Network—who shared how they drive improvement at their organizations. Lastly, attendees heard from HCIF’s Pam Braun, BSN, MSN who provided an update on HCIF’s Regional Safe Community program.
