Vanessa Renee is the Deputy Chief of School Planning and Space Management for the School District of Philadelphia where she manages a critical strategic process to provide tangible solutions to schools’ facility and utilization challenges.
Vanessa earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Pittsburgh and her master’s in business administration from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. She is a native Philadelphian and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Vanessa Renee has a strong track record of accomplishments in both the private and education sectors. She began her professional career in the financial services sector in a variety of roles at the PFM Group, Bank of America and Wachovia (now Wells Fargo).
She moved to the education sector when she joined Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, spending almost five years supporting C-level leaders while also managing major strategic initiatives. Vanessa has also worked for a charter school network, led a non-profit that served middle school students, consulted with school districts and charter management organizations to resolve complex issues, facilitated professional development workshops to help school leaders improve their critical thinking and decision-making skills, and worked for an education technology firm supporting personalized learning initiatives in client districts.
