Elaine Markezin, MBA

Retired

Now retired, Elaine Markezin enjoyed a long and successful career as a health plan executive, both as a line manager and a consultant. With more than 30 years of broad-based senior management experience in strategic planning, organizational development, and project management, she has held senior executive positions in for-profit and not for profit organizations. Before retirement, she served as senior vice president of operations and chief operating officer at Health Partners Plans, one of Southeastern Pennsylvania’s largest health maintenance organizations. She oversaw provider network management, member and provider services, information services and operations for Health Partners Plans’ Medicaid, Medicare and CHIP lines of business.

Ms. Markezin has an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College.

Currently, Ms. Markezin is an active volunteer, regularly getting her hands dirty volunteering in the St. Peter’s historic graveyard at 3rd and Pine Streets in Philadelphia, functioning as the project manager for the church’s youth Chorister Academy, and acting as the HCIF Board sponsor for the COACH public health program.

Ms. Markezin is in her second term as an HCIF Board member, having previously served on the Board from 2013-2018.
