Managing Director of the Pennsylvania Health Care Quality Alliance (PHCQA)
Erik Muther was the founding executive director of PHCQA before it merged with HCIF on January 1, 2015. He is responsible for HCIF’s public reporting, performance measurement, and transparency programs.
Erik has over 22 years of health care experience leading a wide range of quality measurement, process improvement, data analytics, and strategy development programs. As a member of the advisory board of the Institute for Surgical Excellence and co-chair of the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Primary Care Transparency Workgroup, Erik is a recognized expert in health care quality metrics, pay-for-performance programs, quality improvement, and public reporting.
Prior to his work at HCIF and PHCQA, Erik spent 12 years in the health care practice of Accenture, a large global consulting company. Erik has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Neural and Behavioral Sciences from Haverford College.
